pre heat the oven to 400° take an entire head of garlic

cut off a 1/4 inch of the top of the garlic head

cut off the heads of the smaller cloves on the side as well

peel off some of the layers of skin

drizzle the garlic with a tablespoon of olive oil

sprinkle a generous amount of salt

for roasting you can either make a:

  • tin foil packet
  • a parchment paper packet
  • or use a ramekin

you always want to cover your garlic so be sure no matter what method you use for roasting that the garlic is covered

roast the garlic for 30-40 minutes

allow to cool slightly before using
